In most of the states, electrician training is a necessity to get the license for practicing as an electrician in that state. Some of them insist on as much as seven years training under a licensed electrician. Only then you can get a license on your own. In others, they do give you a bye for two to three years depending upon your educational qualifications. Finally, most of this electrician training does not cost you any thing. As already indicated, they pay you a regular salary during the course of the apprenticeship. Working on the job is the best way to learn. Once you are in the contracting company, ensure that during the electrician training period you are applying yourself to the job completely.
